RIDER INFO (How to Ride)
Xpress is commuting made easy. Here are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure a stress-free ride on our coaches.
Operation – Keep in mind Xpress is a commuter service. It operates at anywhere between three to eight times in the morning and about the same in the afternoon and early evening, Monday through Friday. It is designed to provide alternative transportation to work day commuters. It is not like local transit which has frequent times throughout the day and on weekends and many holidays.
Fares – If you are riding Xpress for the first time, we recommend you just pay cash to be sure the times and stops location fit your needs. There are several ways to pay to ride Xpress, and you will see different ways to pay when you board.
A one-way fare is $3 exact cash and a roundtrip is $5. Put your cash in the farebox slot. (Look for the familiar dollar design on the slot.) With roundtrip, the operator will hand you a return trip ticket, which is good only for the same day.
If you have a 20-Ride or 40-Ride pass, put it in the farebox slot for fare passes. The machine will print that day so you know how many trips you have used.
If you have a 31-Day pass, slip that pass in the first time you use it and it will print the date the pass will expire. For the next 30 days, all you need to do is show the operator your pass expiration date.
If you have a Breeze Card, once equipment is installed on the coaches, all you need to do is tap the card on the reader located on the dash to your right as you board. You do not need to tap to exit the coach.
Commuter Stops – Be sure you arrive at your stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure. Our coaches operate in Atlanta traffic. Some are returning from the park & ride lot and may be delayed by traffic on the way back. .Xpress stops only at designated stops (see stop sign on the right of this page). On the schedule timetable only some stops show times. Not all stops have a specific time. If your stop is not a “timed stop,” just look for the next timed stop before and after your stop. The scheduled arrival of your coach will fall sometime between those times.
