Hampton-Jonesboro to Downtown Atlanta

Route 440 provides commuter service from Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) in Hampton and the Jonesboro Park & Ride Station to Downtown Atlanta, Monday-Friday. Some coaches in the later morning, mid-day and late evening, serve only the Park & Ride Station (see timetable below). The route provides three reverse commute coaches in the morning with a stop at Southlake Mall before returning to the Atlanta Motor Speedway and the Park & Ride Station. Three reverse commute coaches are available in the early afternoon from the Jonesboro Park & Ride Station to downtown Atlanta with a stop at Southlake Mall. Two reverse commute coaches are available in the late afternoon from the Atlanta Motor Speedway with stops at the Park & Ride Station and Southlake Mall to downtown Atlanta.

The 100-space Atlanta Motor Speedway Park & Ride Lot is located on Tara Boulevard (U.S. 19/41) just north of GA 20 in Hampton, GA 30228. The Park & Ride Station is located 8488 Tara Blvd. (U.S. 19 /41), Jonesboro, GA 30236, just north of Smith St.  

All Xpress coaches are wheelchair accessible.

The timetable below shows the timed stops on the Xpress route. Not all stops have times. To estimate when the coach will arrive at a non-timed stop, check the last timed stop just before the stop you want and the first timed stop after the stop that you want. Your stop time will fall approximately between those two times.

Holiday Schedule

Xpress does not operate on New Year’s Day; the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Only GRTA Xpress fare passes are valid for this route. Fare passes are not refundable.

Half-Price and Reverse Commute Fares

One-way -- $1.50 -- (pay exact cash only at the farebox)

Roundtrip -- $2.50 -- (pay exact cash only at the farebox)

31-Day -- $40 -- (31 days unlimited use)

Half-price fares are available on reverse commutes. In addition, all persons 65 years of age and older, Medicare cardholders and persons with disabilities are eligible for half-price fares on those routes operating during off-peak hours (between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m.). Riders must show the coach operator their Medicare card to qualify. This route currently does not operate during off-peak hours.

Always check the route sign above the front window of the coach to ensure boarding the correct coach.

If you need the wheelchair lift, let the driver know and follow his or her instructions.
