Commuting has never been better, until you have logged into our FREE on board Wi-Fi. We are very excited to announce the launch of FREE Wi-Fi on Xpress coaches. Now you can sit back and enjoy the ride while reading our Transit Talk blog, checking important emails or simply surfing the web.


Getting Started:

1. Board and take your seat on an Xpress coach
2. If your wireless device does not automatically display your wireless network choices, open your wireless network options and select “Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi”.
3. Open your Internet browser. Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi page opens.
4. Accept the terms of usage.
5. Click Log In. You are now connected to free Wi-Fi

    a. If the Log-In Successful page opens, you can browse the Internet.
    b. If you receive an error message, repeat steps 2-5.

As you may know, streaming video and music, increase number of users, and normal vehicle movement, signal strengths may vary and you may experience occasional loss of service. We have taken it upon ourselves to restrict certain sites that will definitely cause a delay for your continued uninterrupted use.

Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi is a free service that GRTA is offering to its riders while they are commuting on an Xpress coach. The only requirement is that you accept the “Terms and Conditions” before you access the service.
No, GRTA’s Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi uses an unsecured network. However, you must be on board an Xpress bus in order for your wireless device to “see” the network.
Xpress’s wireless network is as secure as any other public open wireless network. The actual security of the connection will depend on your computer or smartphone and the application you are using. You should use the same precautions while on GRTA’s Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi network that you would while using any other open wireless network.

GRTA’s Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi will always be identified by the “Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi” service set identifier (SSID). If you see other available networks, but “Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi” does not appear, please notify GRTA customer service so that we can check the equipment when the bus returns to the garage
Due to normal vehicle movement and cell tower coverage, signal strengths may vary and you may experience occasional loss of service. Wait a few minutes and try again. If you continue to experience problems connecting, it may help to reboot your device.
Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi is a free service that is shared by all riders on your coach. While we hope that you are able to enjoy the benefits on the Wi-Fi network, we are currently blocking access to sites/apps that will use a significant Wi-Fi bandwidth so that all riders may experience reasonable speeds.

While we have tried to limit the number of sites blocked, we might have accidentally blocked some. If you feel that a site is blocked that should be accessible, please fill out this survey and let us know!

While we hope that using Xpress’s Wi-Fi network will be a benefit to our customers, there are current limitations to the service we are able to provide. While we are hoping that you are able to use the service with reasonable speeds, factors like lack of cell tower coverage and an increased data usage from other riders might impact you experience with the service.
You must accept the “Terms and Conditions” before you will be allowed access to Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi. Open a browser window to the GRTA Xpress splash page, then click “Accept” to accept the terms before attempting to access the Internet.

Once you log onto Xpress_Commuter_Wi-Fi, you will not have to log back in as long as you stay connected to the network. Occasionally, coach movements and cell coverage may cause you to temporarily become disconnected. If that happens, simply reopen your web browser to re-accept the “Terms and Condidtions” agreement.
Only customers who are 18 years of age or older are authorized to use this service.
This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions on which Xpress Wi-Fi wireless internet access (“the Service”) is provided free of charge to customers of the Xpress bus service (“You”) by the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (“GRTA”).

By using and/or activating this Service and/or clicking the “ACCEPT” button on the login/registration page, You acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Further, by clicking the “ACCEPT” button and/or using this Service You represent that You are of legal age to agree and be bound by this Agreement. GRTA may modify this Agreement at any time. Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the Agreement in effect at that point in time. You must accept the Agreement each time you access the Service and it is your responsibility to review it for any changes each time.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE.

You acknowledge that:
1. ACCESS
1.1. You are authorized to use this Service as a customer of the Xpress bus service, as a representative or as an employee of GRTA, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
1.2. Access to the Service is completely at the discretion of GRTA.

2. SECURITY WARNING.
The unsecured nature and ease of connection to public Wi-Fi increases the risk that unauthorized persons can access your phone, laptop or other device or your communications over the Wi-Fi network. Service customers should take precautions to lower the security risks and avoid transmitting or accessing sensitive personal information while using the Service.

3. DISCLAIMER
3.1. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED SOLELY AS A CONVENIENCE TO XPRESS CUSTOMERS, ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.
3.2. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT GRTA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION: IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; NON-INFRINGEMENT; THAT ACCESS TO THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE; OR THAT ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY PART THEREOF WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR OR DEFECT FREE, FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL CODE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE FREE FROM INTERFERENCE OF THIRD PARTIES, SAFE OR SECURE. YOUR CONTINUED USE OF AND ACCESS TO THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND DISCRETION AND YOU AGREE TO ASSUME THE RISK. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEMS OR DEVICES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, WHICH MAY RESULT FROM YOUR USE OF THIS SERVICE. GRTA MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING SAFETY, YOUR DATA WILL NOT BE ENCRYPTED AND NO DATA SECURITY IS PROVIDED.
3.3. We will always try to make the Service available but we reserve the right to withdraw the Service if it has become unavailable, interrupted, or limited at any time and for any reason including, but not limited to, maintenance and repair work, equipment limitations/failures or due to an emergency.
3.4. Access to the Service may be blocked, suspended, or terminated at any time for any reason including, but not limited to, violation of this Agreement, disruption of access to other users or networks, and violation of applicable laws or regulations.

4. ACCEPTABLE USE OF SERVICE
4.1. You agree that You are fully responsible for your activities while using this Service (including for any content, information and other materials you access or transmit via this Service), and that You shall bear all risks regarding use of this Service.
4.2. You agree not to use this Service to engage in any Prohibited Conduct or to assist any other person in engaging in such Prohibited Conduct. “Prohibited Conduct” includes, but is not limited to, any conduct that is unlawful, infringing (such as downloading copyright protected material, video, audio or otherwise without the owner’s permission), tortious (conduct that is intentionally harmful to an individual or entity or conduct that negligently or knowingly puts an individual or entity at risk), or any other online conduct that a reasonable individual would or should know would violate another party’s intellectual property rights, privacy rights or other rights; or conduct that otherwise interferes with the operation of, use of, or enjoyment of, any service, system or other property. You must not use the Service to engage in any activity which constitutes or is capable of constituting a criminal offence in the United States. You agree and acknowledge that we may be required to provide assistance and information to law enforcement, governmental agencies and other authorities.

5. CONSENT TO MONITORING. GRTA reserves the right to monitor and collect information while You are connected to the Service and that the collected information can be used at our discretion, including sharing the information with any law enforcement agencies.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, EVEN IF GRTA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGES, WILL GRTA BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION: PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOSS OF PRIVACY OR SECURITY DAMAGES; PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGES; OR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM INTERRUPTION OR FAILURE OF SERVICE, LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS DUE TO UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OR DUE TO VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, COST OF REPLACEMENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, THE INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, THE CONTENT OF ANY DATA TRANSMISSION, COMMUNICATION OR MESSAGE TRANSMITTED TO OR RECEIVED BY YOUR DEVICE, ACCESS TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB, THE INTERCEPTION OR LOSS OF ANY DATA OR TRANSMISSION, OR LOSSES RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR MESSAGES OR DATA RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH THE SERVICE.

7. INDEMNIFICATION. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GRTA, the State of Georgia and its departments, agencies, authorities and instrumentalities and all of their respective officers, members, employees and directors from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, losses, costs or expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising out of or resulting from your breach of any provision of this Agreement or otherwise arising in any way out of your use of the Service, including, but not limited to, using the Service for Prohibited Conduct. This Section will not be construed to limit or exclude any other claims or remedies that GRTA may assert under this Agreement or by law.

8. MISCELLANEOUS. This Agreement shall be governed by Georgia law without regard to its conflict of laws rules or any other rules directing referral to foreign law or forums. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this Agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as conferring upon any person, other than the parties hereto, any rights or benefits under this Agreement. The captions in this Agreement are for convenience only and will not affect the interpretation of any terms of this Agreement. This Agreement contains the entire agreement between You and GRTA with respect to its subject matter and supersedes all other prior and contemporaneous contracts and understandings between the parties, whether oral or written.
