The New I-75 South Metro Express Lanes Are Now Open!

We are excited to announce that as of Saturday, Jan. 28, the brand NEW I-75 South Metro Express Lanes are up and running! On Thursday, Jan. 26, the lanes were unveiled to the public during a ribbon cutting ceremony, which featured notable figures such as Gov. Nathan Deal, our very own Executive Director Christopher Tomlinson and other state transportation representatives.

Serving as the first reversible toll lane project in Georgia, the lanes run 12 miles along the median of Interstate 75 from State Route 155 (McDonough Road) in Henry County to State Route 138 (Stockbridge Highway) in Clayton County. A series of gates and a concrete barrier separates the dynamically priced lanes from the general purpose lane. Vehicles with a Peach Pass have access to travel northbound during the morning and southbound in the afternoon. Xpress Route 430, which connects McDonough Park-and-Ride to Downtown/Midtown Atlanta, also utilizes these lanes while transporting passengers to their destination.

During the first 14 days of operation, Peach Pass holders had the opportunity to access the lanes FREE! This promotion encouraged travelers to try out the new lanes and allowed them to enjoy two weeks of riding with no charge.
